The Voelcker Biomedical Research Academy enables rising high school sophomores to participate in research experiences mentored by biomedical scientists from UT Health San Antonio. The academy runs for three years—including a seven-week research program in the first year—and aims to introduce high schoolers to careers in biomedical research.
2. Greehey CCRI Donald G McEwen Memorial Summer Research Program

This ten-week research-oriented summer program introduces high schoolers to children’s cancer research. Bank of America Student Leaders is a well-regarded program available in 100 communities nationwide, including San Antonio. The program places student leaders in seven-week internships with local nonprofits—allowing participants to gain work experience, earn money for college, and serve their local community. The program concludes with an all-expenses-paid trip to the Student Leaders Summit, a week-long event in Washington, D.C.

5. San Antonio Family Service Summer Intern Experience
