2. Florida International University (FIU) Summer Research Internship Program

5. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Teen Academic Year Program

13. Zoo Miami Teen Academic Volunteer Program

Teen Volunteers assist zoo staff in engaging guests in various positions, like renting multi-person bicycles for touring the zoo and parrot feeding stations. To participate in Teen Volunteers, you must be enrolled in high school and at least 14 years old. Teen volunteers must complete at least one seven-hour shift monthly and 60 hours of total service to complete the program.
14. ArtWorks: Internships in the Arts

While employed in these eight-week paid internships, students gain firsthand experience working with nonprofits such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Habitat for Humanity. The program culminates with a one-week, in-person leadership summit in Washington, D.C., where students expand their skills and connect with peers from across the country.
Participants must be able to commit to 35 in-person hours per week for the full duration of the program.
