About this livestream
Description
The college interview can be a daunting task in the application process. Many students are uncertain what to expect, what its purpose is, and how to best prepare.
College advisor Jacquada Gray walks students through how to ace the interview -- she also offers one on one interview prep!
Born and raised in Kansas City, Mo, Jacquada began her educational career in her hometown where she received a BA in History from the University of Missouri- KC. Her purpose in life is to pursue equitable education for all students and support them on their journeys to success. She currently works in University Admissions as an Application Reader and as a College & Career Access and Success Coach. Having worked in many educational positions from infants to college students for over 10 years, her professional career in the field began while serving as a College Advisor and a College Preparation instructor for HS students. Here she found a passion for collegiate access and success. After receiving her MA in Higher Education from Teachers College Columbia University, she focused on Higher Education success by continuing her teaching and coaching in a University setting. Throughout her career, Jacquada has assisted many students in navigating the college application process, financial aid, athletic recruitment, and even collegiate graduation. Former students have received full ride scholarships for athletics & academics, as well as attended D1 institutions including Ivy Leagues & HBCUs. Jacquada strongly believes that every student has the opportunity to be successful, and as an educator it is her goal to ensure that all students have the same support and opportunities to reach this success. Her hobbies include traveling, crafting and discovering new TV shows and movies!

Work Experience: Throughout my advising career, I’ve helped tons of students craft their perfect admissions narrative, nail their interviews, maximize their standardized test scores and ultimately, gain acceptance to their dream schools! During undergrad, I worked as an RA in two research labs, culminating in published work, in addition to serving as a near-peer public speaking coach. I am currently completing my MSc in Evolution of Language and Cognition at the University of Edinburgh.
My Admissions Story: As a low-income student, I had no idea how to approach college admissions. I remember looking at the sticker prices for the schools I was interested in and worrying that college might not actually be for me. Fortunately, I was able to find my way, navigating the complex process of admissions and aid. I’m so excited to be in a position to help other students who feel as I once did.
