Why Summer Programs Benefit High Schoolers

One of the best reasons for high school students to choose summer programs is the chance to explore subjects they’re interested in while surrounding themselves with other like-minded students in programs led by college faculty. This gives students insight into the social and academic environment at college. It also provides the opportunity to meet staff, current students, and applicants at their dream school—creating a network in advance of applying or attending.

The variety of summer programs offered allows high school students to explore potential majors and careers paths, painting a clearer picture of the fields they want to pursue in the future. Attending a summer program will also enhance a high schooler’s college application, as participation demonstrates an active interest in academics and a dedication to learning to college admission officers.
