Ask NC State admissions officers questions about what it takes to get admitted to NC State, their application process, academics, and more.
NC State has shut down campus visits and tours due to the coronavirus outbreak, and many families are missing out on the opportunity to learn about the college first hand from admissions staff on campus. Joselyn and Erin will start the session with an in-depth overview of NC State, covering topics ranging from admissions to academics to campus life. In the second half of the session, they'll open the floor to an audience Q&A session and answer your questions about NC State admissions, life on campus, and more.
Presenters:
Joselyn Barrientos - Hi everyone! My name is Joselyn Barrientos and I am an admissions counselor at NC State University. I am also a graduate of NC State! I graduated in May 2018 with a bachelor's degree in International Studies and a minor in Spanish. During my time at NC State, I was heavily involved in Young Life, where I led a group of middle school students. I also held an internship at a local non-profit organization. One of my favorite parts of attending NC State was definitely the sporting events. I loved my time at NC State so much that I decided to stick around and become an admissions counselor. Being a first generation student from a migrant family, I wanted to be able to help other students like myself find their place in higher education. I look forward to being a part of your college search journey. Go Pack!
Erin Boggan - Hello! My name is Erin Boggan, Associate Director of Events at NC State University. I lead the logistical planning for all on and off campus events for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In addition to this responsibility, I work with students through their application process and serve as our School Counselor Outreach Coordinator. My favorite aspect of working in admissions is the ability to connect with students as they plan their future educational journey. NC State campus community is vibrant, rich in tradition, and always growing. With nearly 100 majors and more than 120 minors to choose from, we let you shape your education to fit your passions and goals!
